More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 180gr AccuBond CT 30-06 Springfield Ammo by Winchester
You don’t have to go on an expedition for big game if you want to hunt with Winchester’s Expedition Big Game line of 30-06 ammunition. You can just go on a leisurely walk through the woods and look for anything attached to antlers instead!
The AccuBond CT bullet by Nosler is an accurate little bolt of death. Its polymer tip (which is red instead of the usual white) streamlines its frontal profile, and its thick jacketed boat tail prevents deformation in the barrel before proceeding to minimize in-flight drag. The bullet’s heavy and balanced weight also contributes to this round’s splendid 0.517 G1 ballistic coefficient. That makes this a true long-range hunting cartridge, which reliably remains supersonic past 1,200 yards.
That explains the “Accu” aspect of the bullet’s performance. But what about the “Bond?” As you may have guessed, the AccuBond CT’s lead-alloy core is bonded to its copper-alloy jacket, which prevents the bullet from fragmenting apart during high-energy penetration of the target. The tip smashes into the core’s underlying nose cavity throughout penetration, thus forcing the tapered jacket to evenly fan outward during a display of truly lethal expansion.
Why does this ammo look so distinctive? That’s because its bullets are coated with low-friction black oxide (aka Lubalox), and its cases are plated with corrosion resistant nickel. Winchester always thinks of everything.
