Some of our most popular 12 gauge slugs, these Winchester rounds pack a punch!
There are four main ways to breach a door: mechanically, with lock picks and battering rams, thermally, like with a blow torch, explosive, which is self-explanatory, and then there’s our favorite: ballistically, with a well-placed shotgun round. Of course, breaching a door is a bit easier if you use the proper technique; although a 12-gauge shotgun blast is certainly capable of tearing big holes in things, greater success can be found with good technique. For breaching doors, it’s best to aim at a downward 45 degree angle with muzzle contact about halfway between the lock and the door frame. Most law enforcement officers and military service members use frangible rounds to cut down on shrapnel and ricochet risks. Your 12-gauge shotgun is a versatile weapon capable of serious knockdown power, and if you want to load it for maximum impact, you want slugs.
These slugs are made by Winchester, the company responsible for the lever-action rifle affectionately called The Gun That Won the West and countless over historically-significant firearms. The company was founded in 1866 by Oliver Winchester, a clothing manufacturer who took an interest in the firearms industry when the Volcanic rifle was created. Oliver started the company with the Model 1866, a .44 caliber rifle with a unique double firing pin, and the rest, as they say, is history. For over 150 years Winchester has been producing firearms and ammunition with pride in America. When you load your gun with Winchester rounds, you’re using a quality piece of Old West history.
These are 12 gauge, 2 ¾” long rifled slugs with multiple purposes. Many shotgun owners use their long guns for home defense, and a slug certainly makes a point. Others use them for hunting, in fact many seasoned hunters prefer slugs for game such as deer. And, of course, slugs are great for casual days of outdoor shooting, whether you’re lining up a row of watermelons or practicing accuracy with paper targets – which will be totally obliterated. This ammunition has a muzzle velocity of 1600 feet per second and slam into your target like a freight train. There are 250 slugs in this box, so you don’t have to worry about running out next time you take your shotgun out. Get your order in and put your shotgun to real use.
