There are specific drills you should be doing to make sure your reaction time in a life-threatening situation is good. Although it’s impossible to fully replicate the physical responses you’d have in those situations, it is possible to mimic certain aspects. The adrenaline rush that hits anyone when their life is being threatened causes not only slower reaction time but robs the shooter of accuracy, which is why all shooters should work so hard to hone their skills: in a self-defense situation you’re only going to be left with a fraction of your stress-free skill set. Doing push-ups, wind sprints, and other exercises to raise your heart rate, increase respirations, and make your muscles shake, are good ways to prepare for self-defense situations – do those, then shoot. It takes training to master shooting when your arms are shaking and your breathing is ragged.
Aside from training you need superior defense rounds to survive a life-threatening situation, and that’s where Speer comes in. Speer was founded by Vernon Speer in 1944. Vernon got his start in the U.S. Navy; at the age of 21 he invented a new airplane engine, and in order to prove it actually worked, he simply installed it and took the plane airborne. The engine did work, and Vernon’s innovation was only getting started. When he started Speer Bullets in 1944, it was in the basement of a grocery store, but it wasn’t long before he needed more space and bought property along the banks of the Snake River. Today Speer is known for high-quality ammunition and trusted by countless experienced marksmen.
These are lightweight 115 grain rounds. They’re Hollow Points and begin to expand immediately upon impact while simultaneously decelerating; the combination creates a traumatizing wound channel and prevents over-penetration, which protects innocent bystanders. Each round flies towards your target with a muzzle velocity of 1210 feet per second and impacts with a muzzle energy of 375 foot-pounds. These are defense rounds – but not just any defense rounds. These are Speer Gold Dot rounds, which are trusted by members of law enforcement. Now that’s an endorsement. You get 20 Gold Dots in this box of ammunition. Order today to keep your gun loaded with the defense rounds police put their faith in.
