It’s important to get some extensive target practice in if you plan to go hunting. You can’t just pick up your rifle at the start of each hunting season and expect to land a clean kill without any problem; experience matters. First, consider your position. Although it’s true hunting can and may be done from a variety of positions, a lot of deer hunting is done while sitting. If you’ll be taking the majority of your shots from a sitting position, you need to train that way. If all your target time takes place standing up, do you really think your seated shots will fully benefit? Second, keep your grip firm but not too tight. Having a death grip on your rifle will throw your shots off, not to mention tire out your hands and arms. Third, work on accuracy at a variety of ranges, and never take a shot while hunting that’s outside your range. Clean kills aren’t just a matter of pride, they’re a matter of being a kind, ethical hunter.
At 123 grain these are lightweight rounds and are going to go zipping merrily towards your target at significant speeds. They’re FMJ rounds and won’t expand when they strike your target; remember, rifle rounds can travel for miles before stopping, and who knows what could be hit in that distance, so have a reliable backstop in place. Each of these rounds moves with impressive speed at a muzzle velocity of 2421 feet per second and impacts targets with a muzzle energy of 1607 foot-pounds. This ammunition is ideal for target practice, shooting drills, and plinking.
You get 600 rounds in this box of ammunition from Sellier and Bellot. If that’s not a nice number of 7.62x39mm rounds, what is? And if you really think you’re going to order this box and have it last for a long time, you might want to reconsider. The only way to improve your marksmanship is range time, and that means ammo – and more than a few dozen rounds. This box will be gone before you know it. Sellier and Bellot has been in business for two centuries and manufactures all their ammunition at their plant in Vlasim, Czech Republic. Be the best hunter you can be by ordering this box of target rounds and hitting the range with your favorite rifle.

- Is this ammo corrosive? Are the cases brass and reloadable ? Posted On: 2/27/2020 By: Harold Gotsch
- Sellier & Bellot uses only modern non-corrosive Boxer primers. Their brass shell casings are new out of the box, and make suitable reloading components once fired.
