- Q & A
In 1825 a German businessman by the name of Louis Sellier entered the ammunition business. He got started by manufacturing percussion caps for the infantry at a factory in Prague after being requested to do so by then-Emperor Francis I. It wasn’t until he was joined by his fellow countryman Jean Maria Nicolaus Bellot that the company truly began to take off, but once it began to succeed, it did so in leaps and bounds. Within five years Sellier and Bellot had produced more than 60 million percussion caps, and before long they’d reached 156 million. Sellier and Bellot has been known for quality and reliable performance since day one, and today they remain a well-known company in the industry, trusted by many gun owners to keep their guns fed.
These particular Sellier and Bellot rounds are for your .38 Special. At 148 grain they’re considered medium-weight for the cartridge size, remaining light enough to travel at good speeds while heavy enough to impact targets with a solid strike. These are Wadcutter rounds and do not expand on impact. These rounds are designed to create a clean hole in paper targets for easier scoring and simply penetrate the target then keep on going. Always have a reliable backstop in place during range time. Each of these rounds has a muzzle velocity of 699 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 161 foot-pounds. This ammunition is meant for target practice and plinking.
There are 50 target rounds in this single box of ammunition from Sellier and Bellot. With 50 rounds you can work on honing accuracy at a variety of distances or firing with your weak hand, among many other possibilities. These are brand new production, brass-cased rounds with boxer primer, so make sure you collect your spent brass so you can reload and get back to the range. Sellier and Bellot manufactures ammunition at their factory in Vlasim, Czech Republic. All ammunition is loaded according to SAAMI or CIP specifications and must adhere to strict quality control standards. Order now to keep your .38 Special warm and fed.
