More Details About Our 1000 Rounds of 158gr LFN .357 Mag Ammo by Sellier & Bellot
The 357 Magnum is not a classic cowboy cartridge. The cowboys surely would have appreciated it on the frontier, yet the frontier was pretty much tamed when the 357 Mag arrived on the scene in the 1930s. But does that mean you can’t enjoy a little target practice with the traditional lead flat nose bullet? Heavens to Murgatroyd, no it does not!
Sellier & Bellot loaded this ammunition in the Czech Republic with 158 grain LFN projectiles. The LFN hasn’t got the hard jacket it would need for reliable feeding in a semi-auto, which is not a problem when you’re just noodling around with your revolver or lever-action rifle. The LFN’s lack of copper makes it ideal for shooting steel targets or against rocky backstops, as soft lead alone poses a significantly lower risk of hazardous splashback. The lead bullet’s flat nose also helps it connect correctly with a steel silhouette, and it punches a tidy hole through a sheet of hanging paper, too!
You can also use this ammo for varmint hunting if you like. The LFN won’t expand, but its broad meplat and ability to deform under pressure will help it deliver an injurious wound channel – and that’s to say nothing of the 357 Mag’s innately impressive power. Brass-cased and noncorrosive Boxer-primed, this case of reloadable ammo has everything going for it!
