- Q & A
In 1825 a German businessman by the name of Louis Sellier started his own ammunition company. His first production job was manufacturing percussion caps for the local infantry by request of Francis I, then-Emperor of Austria. Before long Sellier gained a business partner in fellow countryman Jean Maria Nicolaus Bellot, and with their combined abilities, Sellier and Bellot was born. It didn’t take long for the company to succeed; by 1830 they’d manufactured more than 60 million percussion caps, and the numbers continued to climb. Today they’ve been in business for almost 200 years and production continues to climb.
These particular Sellier and Bellot rounds are made for your .357 Magnum. At 158 grain these are medium-weight rounds, meaning they’re still light enough to travel down-range at higher speeds but are still heavy enough to make a significant impact. These are Full Metal Jacket, or FMJ, rounds and as such don’t expand on impact. FMJ rounds are prone to over-penetration, making it even more important to have a solid backstop in place during target practice. Each of these rounds has a muzzle velocity of 1263 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 560 foot-pounds. This ammunition is great for target practice, tactical training, and plinking.
When you order this case of ammunition from Sellier and Bellot you get 1000 target rounds. That’s a nice-sized box of ammunition that can give you hours of dedicated training time. With this much ammo you have more than enough to practice shooting prone, standing, and kneeling, with some left over for off-hand shooting and rapid-fire drills. Sellier and Bellot manufactures ammunition according to high standards at their longtime factory in Vlasim, Czech Republic. And because these are fresh brass cases with boxer primer, they can be reloaded, giving you even more time with your favorite pistol. Get your order in today; what are you waiting for?
