This shell is packing some serious heat: a 1/5 ounce (87.5 grain) solid lead rifled slug. Its rifling enables the slug to harmlessly pass through a shotgun muzzle’s choke, and its flat nose profile helps the slug punch a pretty injurious wound channel into soft tissue. Its 1,830 fps muzzle velocity and 0.064 G1 ballistic coefficient mean that the projectile will retain about 346 ft lbs of kinetic energy at 50 yards. Maybe a little too gentle for deer, depending on your opinion, but more than powerful enough to knock any coyote off his roller skates.
