- Q & A
In 1816 a young man by the name of Eliphalet Remington made a choice that would impact the gun world not just for years but for centuries to come. He drew up his own design and used his father’s forge to build his own rifle, and when it was ready he entered a competition with it. He ended up winning second place in the competition and although he undoubtedly would have loved to get first, he did gain the attention of the spectators. Orders began pouring in, and Eliphalet decided to fill them. Remington was founded that day, and 200 years later they’re the oldest constantly-operating firearms and ammunition manufacturer in the United States.
These Remington rounds are made for your .308 Win. Each round weighs in at 180 grain which is relatively heavy for the cartridge size. Being heavier allows these rounds to strike targets with greater force. These are PSP, Pointed Soft Point, rounds and begin to expand immediately upon impact. SPs mushroom more slowly than standard HPs, allowing for deeper penetration and a larger, more devastating wound cavity. SPs can also be used in areas where HPs are banned. This ammunition is great for hunting game such as whitetail deer.
When you order this box of ammunition from Remington you get 200 rounds. With 200 PSPs you can zero your optics and sling lead down-range for some practice prior to heading out on your hunt. Remember, it's best to zero your optics using the same ammunition you plan to hunt with, otherwise you could find out you aren’t actually zeroed when the moment comes to drop game. Each of these rounds produces a muzzle velocity of 2620 feet per second and muzzle energy of 2743 foot-pounds. Remington manufactures ammunition at their company in Lonoke, Arkansas. Order now, and camo up.
