More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 50gr JHP .223 Ammo by Remington

The .223 Remington round has been around since 1964 and is ballistically at a point balanced between its two predecessors, .222 Remington and .222 Remington Magnum. It was originally created to fit the M16 and began to gain real popularity when it hit the commercial market for use in ARs. Perhaps one of the greatest points of confusion regarding the .223 Rem is its apparent similarity to the 5.56 NATO round. While .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO are externally similar they’re loaded to different internal specifications with 5.56 rounds being loaded to a higher pressure. The throat of the 5.56 is also longer. Because of these differences, 5.56 rounds shouldn’t be fired in guns chambered specifically for .223 Rem due to the potential for catastrophic failure.

If you have a gun chambered in .223 Rem or one chambered in 5.56, which means its capable of firing .223 Rem rounds, this Remington ammunition may be just what you need. At 50 grain these are lightweight rounds, so they’re going to move at higher speeds. These are Jacketed Hollow Point, or JHP, rounds, so they expand on impact, simultaneously decelerating and mushrooming. Each round has the fantastic muzzle velocity of 3425 feet per second and muzzle energy of 1302 foot-pounds. This ammunition is great for target practice, self-defense training, and plinking.

There are 20 rounds in this single box of ammunition. That’s just enough ammunition to give your rifle a light snack, so if you want to give it a more substantial meal, order multiple boxes. These are new production, brass-cased rounds with boxer primer, so you can police your spent brass, reload it, and get right back to shooting. If you want more bang for your buck, that’s the way to get it. Remington has multiple factories throughout the South and on the east coast, and each location has a specific purpose. Ammunition is manufactured at their plant in Lonoke, Arkansas. Place your order now and spend some trigger time with your favorite AR.
