- Q & A
In 1816 Eliphalet Remington designed his own musket, used his father’s forge to build it, and entered the finished gun into a shooting competition. He ended up placing second in that long-ago competition, and although he probably hoped for first, his gun performed well enough that onlookers immediately began clamoring for him to make the gun for them. Eliphalet began filling orders, and Remington was born. Today Remington is the oldest and largest constantly-operating firearms and ammunition manufacturer in the United States, and their name is known not only by those inside the industry but even by many outside it.
These Remington rounds are made for your .17HMR. At 17 grain these are very lightweight rounds, capable of flying down-range at stunning speeds as well as keeping felt recoil to a minimum. These are V-Max rounds, so they have a polymer tip that’s driven back into the bullet on impact, creating dramatic expansion. They also slow down as they expand, which prevents over-penetration and protects innocent bystanders. Each round zips down-range with a muzzle velocity of 2550 feet per second and strikes targets with a muzzle energy of 245 foot-pounds. These rounds are 35% faster than standard .22 rounds. This ammunition is designed for pest control and is also great for target practice and plinking.
When you place your order for this single box of Remington ammunition you get 50 rounds. That’s just enough to give your gun a light snack, take out a few squirrels, and wish you had more. With that in mind, you might want to consider buying a few boxes. Guns chambered in .17HMR can be quite a bit of fun to shoot, and the last thing you want is to run out in the middle of a fantastic plinking or pest-control outing. Remington manufactures ammunition at their factory in Lonoke, Arkansas. Order now to find out what Remington rounds topped with Hornady V-Max bullets can do. We think you’ll be pleased.
