- Q & A
The .375 H&H Magnum was designed in 1912 by Holland and Holland and was, at the time of its creation, only the second cartridge made with a belt, a feature that ended up becoming standard in magnum rounds (although a trend towards beltless rounds has begun in recent years thanks to advances in design technology). A belt is, in the world of ammunition, a rather literal belt of raised metal around the base of the casing just beyond the extractor groove. The use of a belt allowed for far more reliable headspacing which prevents the cartridge from getting jammed deeply into the chamber, something that causes disastrous results.
One particularly popular use for .375 H&H Magnum rounds is hunting big game, although the .375 is a great all-around cartridge and has many uses. These particular rounds are made by Prvi Partizan. Each round weighs in at a hefty 300 grain, making them relatively heavy for the cartridge size, meaning they’ll strike targets with greater force. These are Round Nose Soft Point, RNSP, rounds and begin to expand on impact. SP rounds mushroom more slowly than standard HPs, which means they penetrate more deeply and create a larger wound cavity. Each of these rounds has a muzzle velocity of 2542 feet per second and muzzle energy of 4322 foot-pounds. This ammunition is great for hunting large game.
When you order this box of Prvi Partizan ammunition you get 20 rounds. With 20 rounds you can get your optics zeroed and be prepared for a little hunting, but if you want to get some serious hunting in, you’re going to want to order more than one box. These rounds are made in fresh brass cases with boxer primer so you can collect your spent brass and reload for even more trigger time. Prvi Partizan can trace its roots back to 1928 and manufactures ammunition at its longtime factory in Uzice, Serbia. Whether you plan to head out on a serious hunt or just want to give your most awesome rifle trigger time, get your order in now and prepare to experience the amazing power of the .375 H&H Magnum.
