From the X-Tac line by PMC (Precision Made Cartridge), AmmoForSale.com is proud to offer PMC's 62 grain 5.56x45 ammunition. These 20 round boxes of brass cased ammunition are boxer primed and are loaded with green tipped 62gr FMJ projectiles. These rounds are loaded to the specifications of the NATO SS109 and leave the muzzle with a velocity of 2,920 feet per second.
Whether you want to blast away during an extended range session as your rifle eats up this ammo or choose to take your time and make every shot count in preparation for a shooting match; these full metal jacket boat tailed rounds will make your time at the range an enjoyable one.
The 62 grain loading is one of the more popular sizes to shoot in modern AR-15 and M4 Carbines rifles with a barrel twist less than 1 in 9".
PMC ammunition is loaded using the highest quality components manufactured in-house and those components exceed all NATO standards. The X-Tac line is quickly becoming a dominant force in shooting matches from three-gun to bench rest throughout the United States and Europe.
Upon your order, expect these rounds to ship that same or the very next business day. You'll receive 50 20-round boxes of 5.56 ammo shipped securely to your door.

Good Stuff
on 12/20/2017This ammo works well in both my direct gas & piston rifles. I don’t mind shooting some of the steel case poly coated stuff in my piston operated rifle but never in the direct gas gun do to the build up of the melted poly obstruction that can occur. This ammo has proved to be very accurate in both my guns and I intend to purchase a lot more of it.
Perfect ammo
on 8/17/2017No issues, shot with confidence, no misfires, just perfect.
Very happy, ordering more!
on 7/31/2017Very happy with the purchase. Fast shipping and a great price! I will be ordering more soon.
Quality ammo at a bargin price!
on 5/10/2017Never had any problem with this ammo, very good deal for the money!
OK for the price
on 11/7/2016Have only shot 100 rounds. No issues loading, firing or unloading. Not exceptionally accurate; 2-3" at 100 yds. I get sub MOA with Hornady Varmint Express. Should be good enough for Coyotes. You get what you pay for.
Good price for brass cased 62gr ammo...........but.......
on 9/1/2016
For brass cased 62gr ammo this is a really great price but I have found that Wolfs poly-coated 62gr shoots just as well and virtually as cleanly as this ammunition at a MUCH lower price and for me a cheaper price means more ammo purchased.
Do not get me wrong, this is FINE ammo and is especially a great buy for reloaders who wish to scrounge for their spent casings.......but since Wolf functions perfectly out of both of my M4's, is just as accurate and as clean burning for all intents and purposes I will buy a case of this ammo just for its "penetration" ability but for the majority of my ammo needs in this caliber I will stick with Wolf poly-coated.
Best deal around for me, AMAZING ammo!
on 8/11/2016$0.41-$0.43 per round retail (Cabela's). $0.39 per round here. So 4 cents per round for this quantity saves you $40. I'd call that a deal. Where I live you find Wolf 55gr steel cased ON SALE *SOMETIMES* for $7 for a 20rd box. This **significantly higher quality, brass cased ammo* WITH SHIPPING will put me at $8 per 20rd box. I don't think I will ever buy any other 5.56 ammo again.
'Merica
on 2/3/2016For the money and the quality these can not be beat. I have shot over 20,000 rounds of this through 9 different AR's all of different makes and models and bolts. Except my two Troy's. Those are both essentially the same. I have had Zero FTF's and zero FTE's. I've had a few stoves but that was from using the rifle like a gatlin gun behind a car ejection port down maybe 2 inches above the earth(so my fault). These little guys are everything you want in bulk range ammo for classes, split with your friends or just to have lying around in your pantry to piss off your wife.
very clean, and quick!
on 11/4/2015I have run several thousand rounds of this ammunition so far without failure. It is excellent at retaining its mass through a great variety of objects. It is very accurate out to 600 yds through my SW mp15 . 1 in 6 twist barrel with Burris lrs tack 30 scope. Probably would be quite a bit better in a more traditional varmint rifle setup.
1000 Rounds of 62gr FMJ 5.56x45 Ammo by PMC
on 10/6/2015This stuff ROCKS!!!! Fun to Shoot...Hits Hard!
smooth shooting
on 6/15/2015I will be buying more of this type of ammo it cycles great in my ar-15 and clean up seems to be easier powders used in making charge seem to be a lot easier too clean wants it is time for it.
Awesome rd
on 8/24/2014Highly recommend I have over a thousand rds of X-TAC LAP 5.56 and they're just tiny monsters compared to steel case great for defense in my opinion but I wouldn't use an AR for home defense especially living in a neighborhood :)
Quality at a fair price.
on 4/13/2014Good quality ammo, at a fair price. I would recommend this item.
Great Ammo, High-Price
on 1/3/2014
This is excellent 5.56.
Have fired a thousand rounds in several different brands of AR-15, not one failure of any kind.
Outstanding performance and a great value!
on 4/30/2013
I have tested PMC 62gr LAP through my Colts', S&W, DPMS, and several others and have not been disappointed. The accuracy is excellent, ammo is clean burning and the LAP designation is an understated "sleeper" in my opinion.
In "real life" testing, shooting through walls, windows, and car doors this round retains its' jacketed mass and retains the desired shape of a high speed projectile penetrating a variety of barriers.
This type of ammo is a "must have" for uncertain times that may arise.

- can you alert me when back in stock? Posted On: 7/12/2020 By: James Rogers
- I'm sorry, but we haven't got a system in place to alert our customers when certain ammo is back in stock. We are aggressively searching for new inventory daily, however, and we always update our site the moment we're successful at it. I hope you'll check in with us again soon to see how we can be of better service to you!
- Is this steel core or jacketed lead core? Posted On: 12/14/2013 By: Mike at MDFA
- These PMC 5.56 rounds do contain a steel core. If you are able to get a closer look at the pictures on our site, I recommend checking out the M193 round in 5.56 or the PMC .223 variation which will include a lead core for any indoor range needs. If you are firing your rifle outdoors, this M855 is an excellent choice.
