More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 55gr PSP .223 Ammo by PMC
If you’re looking for 223 Rem ammunition that’ll really let your quarry know that it’s been shot, then you’ve come to the right website. Precision Made Cartridges (PMC) of South Korea loads this round with a 55 grain pointed soft point that provides similar ballistic performance to the ball 223/5.56 you’d normally use for target practice, but it finishes off its trajectory with positively deleterious terminal expansion!
The PSP is almost completely surrounded by its copper alloy jacket. In addition to promoting smooth feeding and reduced barrel leading, it helps prevent fragmentation following impact to assure deeper penetration of soft tissue. The PSP’s nose is made of the same ductile lead as its core. When it meets with resistance from soft tissue, it causes the bullet to widen out, tumble around, and deal massive damage to anything it scrapes against. Bad news for varmints, boar, and even deer at close range, but good news for you – the hunter!
This round’s 3,200 fps muzzle velocity was recorded with a 24” barrel, and its 0.222 G1 ballistic coefficient means that its trajectory should peak at about 3.15” when you’re firing to 200 yards. PMC’s nonmagnetic bullets are seated in new and reloadable brass cases, with noncorrosive Boxer primers and clean-burning powder to tend to the all-important task of ignition.
