The bullet’s 2,100 fps muzzle velocity, boat tail base and resultant 0.236 G1 ballistic coefficient mean that it will hold on to at least 1,000 ft lbs of kinetic energy until it reaches approximately 117 yards.

The Ballistic Tip is engineered for devastating terminal ballistics. Its polymer tip slams into its lead-alloy core’s nose cavity on impact, which causes uniform terminal expansion thanks to the bullet’s tapered jacket. The jacket’s thick base acts to promote wider diameter expansion, and also spares the bullet from becoming deformed under pressure before it can exit the barrel.
