More Details About Our 25 Rounds of 135gr JHP .357 Mag Ammo by Hornady
Hornady Critical Duty ammo is designed to fully satisfy the FBI test protocol for self-defense ammunition. Reliable barrier penetration, reliable penetration depth, reliable terminal expansion, and reliable ignition. What we’re saying is that this 357 Magnum ammo is reliable.
This cartridge is armed with the FlexLock jacketed hollow point. Its nose cavity avoids clogging with debris that could have inhibited terminal expansion because it already contains a soft polymer column called the “Flex Tip.” The FlexLock’s tough high-antimony lead core is mechanically anchored to its jacket by an InterLock band, which keeps the bullet from fragmenting apart before it can tunnel to the threat’s vital organs. The InterLock band is effective, yet also makes the FlexLock more economical than most bonded JHPs.
The FlexLock’s cannelure and crimped case both work to prevent setback that could impair accuracy or cylinder rotation. It is seated in a corrosion resistant nickel-plated brass case, and fired by a charge of low-fouling and low-flash propellant. Propellant which produces less muzzle flash will help to conserve your eyesight’s acclimation to a dark environment – crucial, if you ever have to defend yourself at nighttime.
