More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 75gr V-MAX .243 Win Ammo by Hornady
This 243 Win cartridge is like a heat-seeking varmint missile! Hornady loaded it with their own 75 grain V-MAX, which serves up both the accuracy and the commanding terminal ballistics you need to transform small game into dead small game.
This round’s muzzle velocity isn’t just fast because its bullet is a lightweight 75 grains. A Superformance load’s MV is up to 200 feet per second faster without producing additional unwanted recoil, muzzle blast or accuracy loss, so you can achieve the 0.330 G1 ballistic coefficient which translates to a laserlike trajectory. The bullet rises only 1.65” above the muzzle line before it collides with a 200-yard quarry. Stretch it out to 300 yards and the trajectory will still only peak out at 4.12”!
The V-MAX’s stellar accuracy is the product of its rotationally stable swaged lead core and Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket, as well as its sharp red polymer tip. The tip is positioned in such a fashion that enables it to turn the lead core and thin jacket into shrapnel during the instant immediately following impact. The V-MAX will exhibit its deadly terminal ballistics at velocities as slow as 1,600 fps – which means this round’s bullet technically remains effective until 753 yards. If you can hit a critter with a 243 Win at that range, then you deserve the Nobel Marksmanship Prize.
When you hunt with Hornady, you’re hunting with a Nebraskan manufacturer that has revolutionized their industry since 1949. These varmint slayers are armed with the premium brass cases, sharp Boxer primers and clean-burning powder your rifle needs to become any vermin’s worst nightmare.
