If you’re new to trap shooting, try these tips for a better score and a more successful outing overall: first, remember that shotguns are point-and-shoot weapons, unlike rifles which require you to carefully sight in and practice breath and trigger control. How you stand matters as well: there should be a slight bend in your leading leg while your rear leg should be straight. Relax, and bend forward slightly at the waist; this bend allows you to put your weight behind the shotgun for better control and accuracy. Also make sure to keep your cheek glued to the stock of the shotgun, and don’t forget follow-through. Lifting your head to see if you made the shot can actually cause you to miss it. Above all, have fun – and load your shotgun with the right ammunition.
These rounds are made for your 12-gauge shotgun by Fiocchi, a company that’s been around for almost 150 years. Each shell measures 2 ¾” in length which is the most common size, but always make sure you know what length shotshell your shotgun is made for, because using the wrong size can result in a catastrophic failure. These 12-gauge shotshells are filled with #8 buckshot and contain a 1 ounce load. With 1 ounce behind them these pellets will fly towards targets with destructive force, and because it’s 1 ounce rather than a larger load, there will be slightly less felt recoil for easier attained accuracy. Each round leaves your gun at a muzzle velocity of 1200 feet per second. This ammunition is specifically meant for target practice and shooting clays.
When you order this single box of ammunition you get 25 rounds, which is enough for a great afternoon at your local trap course or range and enough to give you and your shotgun a taste of Italian ammunition performance. Of course, if you can have a great day with 25 rounds, just think what you could do with even more. Fiocchi’s headquarters are located in Lecco, Italy, but they also have a factory in Ozark, Missouri, for United States distribution. In the case of demand outweighing supply, extra ammunition is shipped in from Italy. Order now and get to shattering clays with your 12-gauge shotgun.
