- Q & A
When you want to load a match accurate cartridge, you really need a MatchKing. That’s Sierra’s preeminent hollow point boat tail competition bullet, which has what is essentially perfect jacket concentricity and a form-fitted lead core that give it effectively flawless rotational stability and the narrow nose profile and boat tail it needs to create impressively little in-flight drag. The 0.462 G1 BC/0.224 G7 BC bullet retains supersonic velocity until 950 yards, and its trajectory peaks at 22.8” before stamping out a 500-yard zero. Dang!
For all you newbies out there, the MatchKing is not a hunting bullet. The hole in its tip provided passage to the molten lead which solidified in place to form the HPBT’s core. It won’t deliver terminal expansion inside a game animal!
Federal ships in MatchKings from Missouri, loads them in Minnesota with their own Gold Medal benchrest-grade primers and best-quality brass cases, and packages them ten boxes to a case. Couldn’t ask for better when accuracy is your only prerogative!

Federal Match 168 HPBT
on 4/19/2022I have shot the same ammo on a tac team on the 1990s. I trusted it then, and now it be used on my new personal precision rifle. Haven't shot it yet, but will this weekend.
