More Details About Our 500 Rounds of 40gr LRN .22 LR Ammo by Federal
Federal Premium Gold Medal is the stuff of champions! This 22 LR ammunition is certainly suitable for competing in serious shooting matches, but it’s no less appropriate for just taking a crack at some of the bottles and cans that are currently taking up space in your shed.
These cartridges are loaded with precision lead round nose projectiles – each one cast in accordance with tight tolerances for weight and dimensions, and seated to a precise depth within a precision drawn brass case. The 40 grain LRN’s 1,080 fps muzzle velocity makes it subsonic, so it may not fully cycle a semi-auto. Its trajectory is also going to drop off a little more quickly, but a bullet which never transfers from supersonic to subsonic velocity completely avoids transonic destabilization. That’s why this ammo’s trajectories are so darn consistent!
These match loads are made in Anoka, Minnesota with Federal’s highest-grade propellant and rimfire primers. The LRN won’t expand if it hits soft tissue, but we’re sure you could also put that tack driving accuracy to good use if you want to clack a few squirrels here and there. This is America. You can clack squirrels however you please, and anyone who tells you otherwise ain’t to be trusted.
