Hunting pheasants is a reward all its own, especially when you do it with a good hunting dog. Try these tips for greater success next time you go out after this upland game bird. First, scout out the right spot. That means an area of good cover such as irrigation ditches, overgrown fence lines, and freshly harvest fields. When it gets colder and snow falls the birds will hang out in even heavier cover, favoring thick cattails and other heavy cover. Now, hunt that cover, but be quiet. Pheasants are well aware of human movement, so you need to maintain quiet from the moment you arrive. Shut car doors quietly and keep talking to a bare minimum of whispers.
Federal manufactures these rounds for your 12-gauge shotgun. Each round measures 2 ¾” in length, which is the most common and standard length for shotguns. Even so, always be sure you know just what length shell or shells your shotgun is made to use, because attempting to feed your shotgun the wrong length can have disastrous results. These rounds have a 1 1 /4 ounce load which provides the serious power necessary to propel pellets towards birds with deadly force. They’re filled with #4 shot which is great for upland game and are high velocity rounds, each round having a muzzle velocity of 1220 feet per second. This ammo is great for hunting upland game such as pheasants and is also good for target practice.
When you place your order for this box of ammunition from Federal you get 250 rounds. With 250 rounds you can spend some time practicing with your shotgun and have plenty left over for the hunt itself. Or you can buy two boxes, using one for training and the other for bringing home game. After all, you might need quite a bit of ammunition come pheasant season. Federal has been manufacturing ammunition for a long time and produces ammo at their factory in Anoka, Minnesota. All Federal ammunition undergoes rigorous testing and adheres to strict quality control measures. Place your order now, and get out and bag your limit of pheasants next fall.
