M193. It sounds fancy, but that’s just the U.S. Armed Forces’ designation for the most basic kind of 5.56x45 ammunition it will issue. Is basic bad? Not at all! You really couldn’t ask for better when you’re just nailing range targets with your favorite AR-style rifle.

Magtech loads these bullseye-slayers with good old-fashioned 55 grain full metal jacket projectiles. A charge of clean-burning propellant pushes the FMJ to a muzzle velocity of 3,265 feet per second out of a 20” barrel, and its 0.272 G1 ballistic coefficient means the bullet will retain about 69% of that velocity at 300 yards. The FMJ’s jacket cannelure promotes smooth feeding and consistent accuracy by fending off bullet setback in the magazine. And because the non-expanding solid point projectile is made of exactly two metals – lead and copper alloy – it is also 100% nonmagnetic.
