The .44 S&W Special, or .44 Special, was designed in 1907 by none other than Smith and Wesson. It was originally made for their New Century revolver which came out in 1908. At the time of this cartridge’s creation guns chambered in .44 and .45 were cutting-edge, but many were still made using black powder. Smith and Wesson decided to come up with a new cartridge for the 20th century, and they wanted it to be smokeless. Smokeless and powerful. The result was the .44 S&W Special, a gun used today for Cowboy Action Shooting and target shooting.
These particular .44 S&W Special rounds are made by Blazer. At 200 grain these are considered lightweight for the cartridge size, although they’re definitely sizeable rounds. Being lighter is what enables these rounds to travel down-range at higher speeds than their heavier counterparts. Of course, they’re still heavy enough to hit hard. These are JHP, Jacketed Hollow Point, rounds and begin to expand immediately upon impact. Their jackets control expansion, slowing it to allow for greater penetration than HPs and creating a devastating wound cavity. This ammunition is designed for self-defense use.
When you order this single box of ammunition from Blazer you get 50 defense rounds. This is enough ammunition to keep your gun and speedloaders loaded and ready for protection. Keep in mind that defense rounds produce more felt recoil and muzzle rise than target rounds, meaning the only way to ensure accuracy is by practicing with your defense rounds of choice. Each of these rounds produces a muzzle velocity of 920 feet per second and muzzle energy of 375 foot-pounds. Blazer manufactures ammunition at their factory in Lewiston, Idaho according to high standards. Order now and keep your .44 S&W Special loaded and ready with quality American-made defense rounds.
Fiocchi 12 gauge 2 ¾” 1 ounce slug, 100 rounds (judging by the images these appear to be Fiocchi’s expanding hunting slugs so I’ll write it that way…what I cannot tell is whether it’s their sabot. There’s some conflicting velocity information too, it looks like the shells in your picture are printed with “1680” while I’m mostly finding “1630” out there…I’ll put 1680 because it looks like it’s pictured that way but it might be worth double-checking.)Add your review to this 50 Rounds of 200gr JHP .44 S&W Spl Ammo by Blazer
