Guns chambered in .22LR are a bit like the potato chips of the firearms world: once you fire a shot you don’t want to stop. They’re incredibly fun to shoot but they’re also quite versatile. They can be used for everything from teaching new shooters the ropes of the gun world to plinking to hunting for small pests such as squirrels. Whatever you plan to do with your .22LR, one thing is for sure: you need ammo. A mistake many .22LR owners make is running endless lead-nosed rounds through their guns which results in some serious buildup. Take a look at these rounds for a cleaner option.
These .22LR rounds are manufactured by Aguila which is a subsidiary of TECNOS, the factory that Remington originally built. At 40 grain these are lightweight in general but within the standard weight range for the cartridge size. Being so lightweight is what enables them to race down-range at such impressive speeds and also what keeps felt recoil so minimal. These are CPRN, Copper-Plated Round Nose, rounds and don’t expand on impact. Because they are copper-plated they fire more cleanly than the commonly made lead-nosed rounds, making them a good option for keeping your .22LR clean. This ammunition is meant for target practice and plinking.
When you order this single box of ammunition from Aguila you get 50 target rounds. This box is the perfect size for stashing in your range bag or pack and also great for stacking on the shelf of your gun safe. You can never have too much ammo or too much target practice. Each of these rounds produces a muzzle velocity of 1255 feet per second and muzzle energy of 140 foot-pounds. Aguila manufactures ammunition at the TECNOS factory in Mexico. Although Remington built the TECNOS factory and trained the first group of employees, the TECNOS factory is no longer affiliated with them. Order now to do some plinking with your .22LR.

- Are aguila long rifle-high velocity solid points good used in a ruger 10/22 takedown? Posted On: 8/14/2024 By: Mark Fatzinger
- Hi Mark! I cannot guarantee any kind of performance out of a firearm that I haven't personally inspected and tested. That said, this ammo should function just fine in your Ruger.
