More Details About Our 840 Rounds of 62gr FMJ M855 5.56x45 Ammo by PMC in Bandolier in Ammo Can
Looking for 5.56x45 M855 ammunition? Then you have come so close to finding it that you’d might as well call off the search right now!
PMC loads these range rounds in South Korea with LAP projectiles. That stands for “light armor piercing” – a fitting name, because the frontal section of the LAP’s core is made of solid steel as opposed to conventional lead. Like the M855, the LAP weighs 62 grains and has a green-painted tip. Its muzzle velocity out of a 20” barrel is also 3,100 fps. At the end of the day, the LAP truly is indistinguishable from the M855 FMJ.
Its steel “penetrator” insert doesn’t just help the LAP bust through sheet metal. It also enables the bullet to split into two pieces following impact, which spells double the wound channels through soft tissue. The LAP’s ability to attract a magnet does mean it is not allowed at many indoor ranges, though, and it’ll permanently damage any steel target it collides with – AR500 or otherwise.
Instead of firing all of this noncorrosive and reloadable ammo on the same day you get it, you may just decide to set it aside indefinitely. The seam-welded steel M2A1 ammo can it’s packaged in will keep the ammo safe from humidity for as long as the gasketed lid remains sealed shut. This ammo is extra AR-friendly because it’s already on stripper clips (spoon included). Better yet, those 84 stripper clips are all contained by six fabric bandoliers.
This ammo is new – not military surplus.
