More Details About Our 800 Rounds of 55gr FMJ M193 5.56x45 Linked Ammo in Ammo Can by Magtech
This 5.56x45 ammo by Magtech is strung together in a continuous chain by M27 links. Linked ammo is an absolute must if you’re going to enjoy firing an M249 light machine gun at its fullest potential. That said, there is zero reason a regular AR-15 owner couldn’t remove this ammo from its links to load into a conventional magazine. If that’s the plan, then we advise getting a length of 2x4, sitting down to a good TV show, and pressing each round bullet first into the wood until it’s freed from its link.
This is ball M193, which is pretty much the most bread and butter kind of 5.56 ammo you could ask for. Each round has a 55 grain bullet, which itself is a simple lead core with a gilding metal jacket. There’s no hollow point nose cavity, polymer tip, or penetrator tip that affect how this bullet performs following impact, but when it’s loaded to a muzzle velocity of 3,265 fps an FMJ bullet like the M193’s does plenty of damage regardless.
This round’s brass case is headstamped with the initials “CBC.” That stands for Companhia Brasileira de Cartuchos, one of the largest ammo companies in the world. They own Magtech, which manufacturers ammo in Brazil according to SAAMI specs with new production brass cases, non-corrosive Boxer primers, and clean burning propellant.
This ammo is a fine selection for range training. And because the high quality steel ammo can it’s packaged in seals so tightly, it’s also a great choice for prepping!
