800 Rounds of 55gr FMJ .223 Ammo by Winchester

The bald eagle is great and all, but in our opinion our national bird should really be changed to the 55 grain FMJ. We sure see a lot more of those flying around whenever we step out to the gun range!

Winchester’s USA 223 Rem ammo is all your AR-15 needs to spread its wings. This round’s simple FMJ is plenty accurate thanks to its 3,240 fps muzzle velocity and 0.248 G1 BC. Its trajectory should only need to arch by about 3” before it finally plunges into a 200-yard target.

This bullet will fragment apart if it strikes soft tissue within about 150 to 175 yards, but the FMJ is really more suitable for target shooting owing to its inability to expand. Winchester’s hard and concentric gilding metal jacket delivers both smooth feeding and good in-flight rotational stability, and it contains no steel or other magnetic metals.

This ammo is loaded with robust factory fresh brass cases, which were not buffed up following the annealing process that strengthened them. Winchester’s Boxer primers are non-corrosive and easily removed for reloading projects.
