More Details About This Black Hills Ammunition 100gr HoneyBadger 9mm Ammo
Not all self-defense bullets adhere to the tried and true jacketed hollow point design. The HoneyBadger takes a very different approach – albeit one that is still devastating to its target, and which boasts several unique advantages that a JHP cannot.
This 9mm +P cartridge by Black Hills is loaded with the 100 grain HoneyBadger (aka the Xtreme Defense Fluid Transfer Monolithic). The solid copper bullet conserves a handgun’s accuracy by preventing lead fouling, and delivers an even more consistent trajectory thanks to its perfectly distributed weight. It is also abnormally tough, and does not lose momentum as the result of fragmentation during penetration of barriers and/or soft tissue. It’s even lead-free, so you can use it for hunting varmints and predators in jurisdictions where traditional bullets are banned.
The HoneyBadger does not widen out as it burrows through soft tissue, yet it still establishes a wound channel that is up to four times broader than its diameter. That’s thanks to its radial flutes, which intake, concentrate and finally release hydraulic energy outward in four lateral directions. Better yet, no nose cavity means no obstruction with debris that could impact terminal performance!
Black Hills makes outstanding ammo, and often does so for U.S. military sniping teams. This ammo’s premium brass, primers, propellant and bullets are all the hallmarks of a South Dakota company that is fully committed to quality. Please be aware that this is +P ammo, however, and is therefore dangerous for firearms that aren’t made to accommodate its more powerful chamber pressure.
