More Details About This Tula 95gr FMJ .380 ACP Ammo
This Russian-made cartridge isn’t completely non-magnetic. Its case is made of pure steel, but it’s nonmagnetic where it counts most: the bullet!
Tula loads this 380 ACP plinking and target shooting cartridge with a steel case. Steel is the cheaper alternative to brass as far as cases are concerned. A steel case accelerates fouling of the action and is completely worthless as far as handloading is concerned, but you just can’t beat its price tag. Tula’s zinc-plated steel cases have added protection against corrosion, and their Berdan primers are completely non-corrosive and safe for your handgun.
Tula’s full metal jacket projectiles typically have bi-metal jackets, which are made of steel with a very thin copper-wash exterior. But this ammo’s 95 grain FMJs feature solid brass jackets. Alongside their solid lead cores, that makes this ammo’s bullets incapable of attracting a magnet. Perfect if your favorite indoor range prohibits magnetic ammo on its premises!
For clarification, this entire cartridge will attract a magnet thanks to its steel case. Its bullet does not contain steel and will not attract a magnet, as that is the component ranges actually care about when they ban “magnetic ammo.”
