This shell holds a 3/4 ounce barrage of #9 lead shot, which it catapults out of the muzzle at a rate of 1,200 feet per second. Winchester designs this target shell to deliver an especially narrow pattern in a couple of ways. First, its shot is made of hard lead that doesn’t significantly flatten down when it’s accelerated to a supersonic velocity. Second, its AA wad collapses throughout ignition, thus subjecting the shot column to less jarring energy before it clears the barrel. Clever clever!
