More Details About Our 200 Rounds of 80gr JSP .243 Win Ammo by Winchester
People and varmints used to get along all right back in prehistoric times. Cavemen would eat them occasionally, and that’s about it. But now that we’ve got things like houses, commercial properties, pastures, gardens, livestock, and free time, we have to take it upon ourselves to hunt varmints – with 243 Win rifles, of course.
This is Winchester’s Super-X series 243 Win varmint hunting ammo. Each cartridge has with an 80 grain jacketed soft point. The bullet is loaded to a normal-for-weight muzzle velocity of 3,350 fps. One look at its nose profile will tell you that the JSP is not match grade, although its 0.259 G1 ballistic coefficient does speak to its ability to hug a flat trajectory. Whether your zero is 100 or 200, you can rightly expect about -6.7” drop at 300 yards.
The JSP is designed to behave like a varmint bullet should – not like a deer bullet. Instead of delaying expansion until some penetration has taken place, the JSP’s lead core and thin jacket widen out and start tearing themselves to pieces pretty much at the instant of impact. This 243 ammo is all brass-cased and reloadable, and all-American as well.
