More Details About Our 200 Rounds of 77gr OTM .223 Ammo by PMC
The 223 Rem is what’s known as an “intermediate cartridge” – not a little pistol round meant to engage targets close up, but also not a big-honkin’ rifle round that can ring a 1,000-yard steel gong like it’s a Salvation Army volunteer’s bell.
Does that mean your 223 Rem (or 5.56x45) rifle isn’t capable of impressive feats of accuracy? Absolutely not! All you need is the right ammunition – aka PMC X-TAC Match.
PMC is an integral part of South Korea’s national defense strategy. But when they’re not doing their part to keep the north border exactly where it is, they’re making excellent ammo for the United States (as well as other, less important countries).
This cartridge’s accuracy is largely a product of the U.S., though. That is because it is loaded with Sierra’s Missouri-made MatchKing: a heavy, high-momentum 77 grain open tip match that cuts a clockwork path through the air. The OTM’s sleek profile, superior weight distribution, and 2,790 fps muzzle velocity (24” bbl) all add up to give it a high G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.372. By PMC’s own measure, this round’s trajectory is as follows:
0 yds: -1.5
100 yds: +1.90”
200 yds: 0.0”
300 yds: -8.3”
400 yds: -24.1”
500 yds: -49.3”
And yes: the brass is reloadable.
