More Details About Our 200 Rounds of 200gr Open Tip .300 AAC Blackout Ammo by Winchester Subsonic
Looking for American-made subsonic 300 AAC Blackout ammunition? Then you didn’t need to fly to Vegas to hit the jackpot today! Winchester loads this ammo to a mere 1,060 fps muzzle velocity, so it can’t break the sound barrier and make a sharp cracking noise when you fire it. Low-report ammo like this will make a suppressor even more effective!
This cartridge is loaded with a 200 grain open tip bullet. That’s a weighty bullet for the 300 BLK, and the sole reason behind this ammo’s subsonic performance. The open tip’s jacketed flat base gives propellant gasses an even surface to press against, but it won’t allow those same gasses to sear off lead and deposit it on the interior of a barrel or suppressor.
The open tip is not considered a hunting bullet, as it is not capable of terminal expansion. The opening in the bullet’s nose is the byproduct of the manufacturing process, where liquid lead is inserted into the jacket so it can harden in place. The open tip’s resultant uniform weight distribution grants it increased stability in flight.
Winchester put this ammo together in the great state of Illinois using reloadable brass cases, non-corrosive Boxer primers and low-fouling propellant. Ten boxes to a case!
