More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 55gr HP Match .223 Ammo by Hornady
This 223 Rem ammo will do pretty much anything you ask it to. Rapid fire mag dumps while you’re plinking with your pals? Stretching the limits of your AR-15’s long-distance capabilities? Bonking varmints out in the field? Sitting safe and sound until an emergency means the rifle comes out? Trust the Hornady Frontier in all cases.
This cartridge features Hornady’s 55 grain HP Match bullet. It is a hollow point by design, although unlike an HP pistol bullet it’s not built to mushroom inside of soft tissue. Instead it’s built for accuracy, as its swaged lead core and AMP jacket both greatly enhance its in-flight rotational stability.
The HP Match’s streamlined profile and narrow tip make it even more aerodynamic, to the point where it consistently retains approximately two-thirds of its starting velocity at 400 yards. That gives the HP Match the flat trajectory which makes long-distance shooting a whole lot easier.
The US government’s Lake City Army Ammunition Plant loaded this ammo for Hornady. That’s why Frontier ammo has military-grade propellant and primers, as well as visibly annealed brass cases which are strong enough to play a central role in multiple handloading projects.
