More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 200gr ELD-X .300 Win Mag Ammo by Hornady
You choose to hunt with the most popular belted magnum rifle cartridge in the United States. That means you get a greater selection of ammo – and you’ve just found some of the best. Hornady Precision Hunter, which showcases the flat trajectory and decisive terminal ballistics of the old Nebraskan company’s state-of-the-art eXtreme Low Drag - Expanding bullet.
This 300 Win Mag round’s 200 grain ELD-X features Hornady’s proprietary Heat Shield polymer tip, which keeps its faired profile regardless of how intensely it’s cooked by aerodynamic friction. The ELD-X’s Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket exhibits virtually perfect concentricity, which keeps the bullet balanced and its tip always pointed at its target. The 0.301 G7 BC boat-tailed projectile retains over half of its muzzle velocity (24” test bbl) until it reaches approximately 1,100 yards.
The ELD-X isn’t bonded. That said, its thick shank and InterLock ring are effective enough to ensure at least 50 percent weight retention at close range. The ELD-X retains over 85 percent of its weight beyond 400 yards, as well as its complete ability to initiate deadly terminal expansion.
Hornady makes great bullets. They also make great ammo, complete with all the high-end components precision hunters and handloaders both love!
