More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 150gr SP .308 Win Ammo by Aguila
Aguila’s 308 Win deer hunting ammunition isn’t exclusively suitable for deer hunting. We’re certain of its deadly effect on wild hogs. We wouldn’t feel remotely underequipped if it was all we had for home defense. And if we were looking forward to a casual outing to the rifle range, we’d trust this ammo to make it a good one!
This round launches a 150 grain bullet – too light for elk or moose in our book, but we wouldn’t argue with anything written in your book. Regardless of what you’re taking aim at, you can expect a decently flat trajectory: one that rises about 2.1” above the bore line before landing on a 200-yard target (assuming your barrel is 24” long and your sights are 1.5” high). Striking energy at 200 yards is over 1,600 ft lbs; at 400 yards, it’s around 1,025 ft lbs.
Like all other soft points, this round’s bullet is engineered for terminal expansion. The steel-free SP widens out after impact to maximize energy transfer, and is likely to tumble around as it gouges a large wound cavity. The bullet is seated in a new brass case, with clean-burning propellant and a noncorrosive Boxer primer to send it on its way. Made in Mexico! Reloadable! Fast shipping!
