More Details About Our 1000 Rounds of 62gr FMJ M855 5.56x45 Ammo by Armscor
You’d better free up a whole lot of AR mags – we’ve got Armscor 5.56x45 M855 ammo in stock and ready to roll out! If you know just one thing about M855 ammo, know this: This round’s 62 grain full metal jacket contains steel, will attract a magnet, and as such is forbidden at more than a few ranges.
But why does the M855 projectile contain steel? Just underneath the tip of the bullet’s copper-alloy jacket and just above its otherwise lead core sits a solid steel spike. This is the “penetrator,” and true to its name it enables the FMJ to reliably punch through sheet metal. Its two-piece core also means the FMJ poses a decent chance of breaking in two as it penetrates soft tissue. But if you’re just looking for affordable range ammo – and your range allows M855 on its premises – then this 5.56 is all set to run through your rifle like a champ!
Armscor loads their 5.56 ammo in the Philippines with clean-firing propellant and noncorrosive Boxer primers, as well as reloadable brass cases. The way these cases are made leaves a little discoloration around their necks. But to be sure, that discoloration is all cosmetic and no indication that this ammo’s new cases were previously fired!
