- Q & A
This round is mil spec, and very rightly so -- Hornady produces it in partnership with the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, a massive facility that the United States government engages to manufacture small caliber ammunition for the Army. Its high quality brass casing, propellant charge, and primer represent the best of what the enormous establishment can achieve, and have all been inspected inside and out by Hornady before making their way to their shooter. Lake City’s immense production capabilities means that this ammo is exceptionally affordable as well, so you can enjoy extremely satisfying shooting and subsequent handloading for a palatable price.

Great for the price
on 10/31/2019
Very good ammo for the price. In a 1/2 MOA bolt rifle (hand loads and some match) this will average 1.5 to 2 MOA so the quality is there for good training or plinking. I have gone through thousands of rounds of Hornady m193 ammo and have had only three rounds in my memory that did not fire. It’s better than just about anything you can get for reliability and is plenty accurate for almost any need. Just buy some and try it.
For reloaders you will need to team the primer pocket but you will find that the brass is pretty consistent and concentric shorting brass prep time and it seems to stretch less than a lot of other brass like Starline so it is a good deal all the way around.
