- Q & A
Being a high-volume shooter is great. You’ve burned through so many rounds you no longer remember how much or what you’ve fed your gun (might we suggest a shooting log). Of course, the real question has nothing to do with quantity and everything to do with quality. How do you spend your range time? If all you ever do is shoot pumpkins and melons packed with Jello for the sole purpose of watching them explode, you might want to consider a new approach. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying shooting responsibly, but it is true that every single time you squeeze the trigger you’re affecting your marksmanship, whether positively or negatively. To keep your range results positive, start with quality ammunition and move on to quality training.
These .38 Special rounds are at the high end of lightweight for the cartridge size. That means that at 130 grain they’re still light enough to reach higher speeds but they’re right on the edge of medium-weight, so they have more knockdown power. As FMJ rounds they’re best for target practice, shooting drills, and plinking, because as important as training is, it’s equally important to relax and get comfortable with your handgun. Each round zips towards your target with a muzzle velocity of 950 feet per second and make an impact with a muzzle energy of 260 foot-pounds.
You get 1000 target rounds in this case; only serious shooters need apply. Fiocchi makes these rounds in new-production brass cases with boxer primer, so you can reload them, and they’re non-corrosive, so they’re easier on your gun. Although Fiocchi was founded in 1876 in Lecco, Italy, they recently opened a facility in Ozark, Missouri, for U.S. orders. All ammunition is manufactured adhering to stringent standards and meets SAAMI or CIP specifications. If you think you can’t afford to be a high-volume shooter, now you can; Fiocchi makes it easier to get good quality target ammunition with these reasonably-priced rounds.
