More Details About Our 1000 Rounds of 124gr JHP 9mm Ammo by PMC SFX
The jacketed hollow point is the gold standard as far as self-defense projectiles are concerned. But here is the problem: the JHP’s nose profile is flat, and therefore not optimally shaped for dependable feeding in a magazine-fed firearm.
PMC designed their “SFHP” bullet to do away with that shortcoming. This SFX label 9mm cartridge’s 124 grain JHP has a specially contoured ogive which enables it to feed just as efficiently as an FMJ. In short, this self-defense ammo can help to prevent a feeding jam from occurring at the worst possible moment.
The SFHP isn’t just designed to feed. It is also designed to neutralize the threat, as its symmetrical array of ribs and flutes enable it to double its original diameter as it tunnels into soft tissue. That equals crippling energy transfer, a broad wound channel, and less risk of over-penetration that could injure innocent bystanders.
PMC doesn’t load a brass cases that they haven’t recently manufactured. Like the SFHP, their noncorrosive Boxer primers and clean-burning propellant are both engineered to cycle a semi-auto sans issue.
